I took these photos on May 12, 2005 when I was in downtown Los Angeles. I remember when I first saw Frank Gehry's amazing Walt Disney Concert Hall architecture, being stunned by how crazy-beautiful/other-worldly it was!!!!

Welcome to Jake's Architecture World!!!

My whole life, I have been fascinated with architecture and interior design, so I thought it would be nice to create an architectural blog named Jake's Architecture World so I could share all my thoughts, ideas, and notes with you.

In 1943, after the destruction of the House of Parliament, Winston Churchill gave a speech regarding the rebuilding of House of Parliament and he famously said "First we shape our buildings, then they shape us."

Since I collect quotes, I remembered his quote, but I thought it held even truer to replace the word "building" with the word "dwelling."

It is profoundly true, that first we shape our dwellings, then they shape us.

With Jake's Architecture World, I intend to cover all kinds of world architecture, with an emphasis on smart homes which are not only environmentally smart, but also technologically smart. In particular, I like homes with powerful, reliable and useful technology–which is typically invisible.

I hope you enjoy Jake's Architecture World which is much more than just an architecture blog!!!!
